The Cat's Cart

I want to thank you all so much for your kind, encouraging, and empathizing comments on yesterday's post; my spirit was so bolstered by all of you!

I "sewed" most of the grass in yesterday, and my plot is now almost solidly green. I didn't think much of the Kudzu until it was all done and I stepped back, but now I can see the variegation and I think it's just quite subtly perfect.

Next will be more of the personalization, along with a band that I'm considering working in purple--which would push this design more towards Hallowe'en--good or bad? Should I make the band with one of the colors already in the design or into one (which?) of these purples (they are WDW Concord and Eggplant, respectively. I know you can't see what the band is like, but that's the way it is! :P (It is very simple, though.)

Enjoy your Saturday, everyone! It's beautiful, clear and cool with breezes--I feel like we've really lucked out!

Yours Happily,
Berit

I don't know if purple would be good or bad. I like purple, and in your photo it doesn't look out of place. But I don't trust my color judgement much. When making changes to a design I tend to exclude color substitutions.

I LOVE purple, plum, eggplant, etc. I think purple would go great with your stitching, but I would say the eggplant, which is the darker of the two, would look a little more subdued and flow with the other colors in your piece. This is such a sweet design and I love your idea of adding a little extra to the design. Smiles....

I'm not good with color and changing things up, but I love the idea of purple for your piece. It's hard to tell the color very well though. Probably whichever purple flows into the general color scheme the best . I'm enjoying watching you stitch this. Oh, and isn't the weather glorious? I so wish it would stay this way forever!

I don't think the purple pushes it too far towards Hallowe'en, actually. Personally, I think the Jack-o-Lantern is already moving in a slightly Hallowe'en direction anyway. Looking at the skeins you have and knowing first hand that Concord has slightly brighter tones, I'd go with the Eggplant myself.

Well, you know how I feel about purple. :o) It is tough to tell from the picture but I would lean toward the darker of the two. If it looks good to you I say go for it.

Cloudy here today but much cooler and I am very thankful for that. More salsa making on the menu for tonight.

I love it! If I were to add a color, it'd be the darker of the two. Can't wait to see it!

I'd say go for the purple, and use the darker one. It looks like it goes well with the other colours and there is nothing wrong with making the chart more halloweenish. Good luck and happy stitching

Oh yes, go for it! I like the lighter one, concord as the darker might look a lot like the black already in the design.

I could pull your hair. LOL It was 106 here today.

Oh, this is looking so nice, Berit! What a fun piece! I think I like the darker of the two threads, but try a bit of each and see what you think...

I love your piece and think the eggplant would look great on it! I just read about your detox diet and I am impressed with your willpower. I would never be able to stick to something like it, but I wish you success with it. I'll keeps good thoughts coming your way.
